Among the products produced by Apple Inc., the Apple personal computers have been one of the greatest successes that the organization has made in the past. The Apple Smartphones exhibit a number of qualities that put them way ahead of other competing organizations, within the stiff market arena. The qualities of Apple Smartphones that put them ahead in terms of competition from the many smartphone manufacturers include the unique operating software (OS), which has the ability to resist virus attack. Viruses are some of the greatest concerns of many smartphone users today, most especially in reference to data loss, which is one of the greatest problems that majorities of the users face today. Additionally, Apple Smartphones use very unique software that are never used by any other type of computer system, therefore, preventing the problem of software piracy, ideally, one of the greatest currently in the Information Technology industry (Lashinsky, 2012). In conducting a SWOT analysis for Apple Inc., it is clear that the greatest strength contributing to the organizationââ¬â¢s success is innovation. Apple Inc. has been able to create unique products, which have brought the market forward, especially in terms of design and competition (Cruikshank, 2006). With products such as the Smartphones and the iPhones, the organization has been able to bring technology to the mainstream, enabling it build a brand name that beats all the rest in the market arena. Despite such great success, Apple Inc. has one great weakness in terms of its pricing. It is substantively clear that the prices of most of Appleââ¬â¢s products are very exploitative, with a majority of critics arguing that the organization only concentrates in gathering immense wealth in cash terms from its customers, without any little concern for theirs economic status

Eng DB 4 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Eng DB 4 - Essay Example Itsââ¬â¢ prose possesses a lyrical quality which we generally come across only in poetry. It is a love story in which the exquisite understatement only serves to highlight the passion. On further perusal, we are immediately struck by the wealth of imagery cleverly used by the author. Undoubtedly, as Anne Beattie says, ââ¬Å"Seconds and symbols are left to sum things up.â⬠We are almost swamped by the tidal wave of imagery and symbolism that carries us through the story. Snow, contrary to itsââ¬â¢ usual connotation of cold and desolation, is here used as a symbol of the love that ââ¬Å"somebodyâ⬠has for ââ¬Å"her loverâ⬠ââ¬â a love that is pure, fresh and warm [warm? snow?]. This kind of contradictory symbolism gives us the first hint of impending tragedy and somehow fixes for us the disconnect that exists right from the start in the attitude of the two lovers towards their relationship. The chipmunk is the girl ââ¬â cherished in her loversââ¬â¢ arms and carried to a house in the winter countryside. He is obviously older than she is and is rather bemused that this creature has come to share his world. Their house, in itsââ¬â¢ winter isolation, appears to signify that their love needs to be insulated from the rough and tumble of everyday life if it is to survive ââ¬â again an indication of the fragility of their relationship. The only intruders are transient visitors. The ââ¬Ëscrapingââ¬â¢ during the first week is symbolic of the lovers getting to know each other, discovering the layers of their past lives like ââ¬Å"wallpaper under wallpaper.â⬠The yellow paint signifies the beginning of their new life together, attempting to put their past behind them. Once more, that stubborn vein of cynicism that runs through the story comes into play - the grapes represent the past which refuses to go away and lurks just beneath the surface, waiting to ââ¬Å"tenaciously push throughâ⬠the fabric of their present. The fireplace is the token of the warmth of their love, which is amazing

General Prologue Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
General Prologue - Essay Example Thus Chaucer gets acquainted with different representatives of middle-class social layer. All of them are on their way to Canterbury to pray at a shrine of Saint Thomas Becket (Schwartz). Step by step Chaucer depicts main characters of his Tales. We can see a merchant, a clerk, a knight, a monk, a wife of Bath and other heroes. Chaucer tells about every character in the order, which is appropriate to the social status of heroes. Iââ¬â¢d like to pay attention to the Wife of Bath, Alyson. She is an embodiment of an authoritative spouse. This woman has been married five times and tells pilgrims about her tumultuous marriages. She provides bright descriptions of herself comparing herself with a ââ¬Ëhumble loaf of breadââ¬â¢ (Schwartz). In order to justify her numerous marriages Alyson refers to Solomonââ¬â¢s and Abrahamââ¬â¢s wives. Five husbands of Alison were different kinds of men, but the most lovable for her was her fifth husband, Jankyn. Their relationships were complicated though they lived together till Jankynââ¬â¢s death. The Wife of Bathââ¬â¢ tale is a long part of general prologue. In such a way Chaucer makes fun of selfish and egoistical traits of human character. We can see that the author underlines this negative trait as a core of human troubles and turmoil. The authors finishes the general prologue stating that he has ââ¬Å"tyme and spaceâ⬠to narrate his tales. His no tes explain to us that the tales were written some time after the events happened the author is just sharing with us what he remembers about these events and at the same time he shares his personal opinion and attitude towards what he is narrating. Canterbury Tales mean much for the reader. Unlike many other famous literary masterpieces, these Tales disclose the reality of humanââ¬â¢s life and can be considered useful for young readers who want to know more about the world around. Canterbury Tales also give very interesting information about the epoch
